Ian wins best pork recipe in Scotland

Ian wins prizes at the "Make it with meat" awards 2005, including the prestigious Diamond award for his "Mangoed Pork Loin" which was judged to be the best piece of pork in Scotland.

He also became the first south-west entry to win both the traditional and speciality steak pie contests.

In addition, he picked up prizes for his Marinated Lamb Kebab on a Rosemary stick, and his Minty Lamb Kebabs.

Leading the way for top hygiene

Alex Jack is the first in Dumfries and Galloway to pass stringent new hygiene awards, which they have been preparing for over the last 2 years.

The new law is designed to separate the displaying and handling of cooked and raw meats and to avoid cross-contamination.

Stuart Jack wins silver award

Stuart wins a silver award at the seventh annual scotch pie world championships in Dunfermline - his second in 3 years.

He said "we pride ourselves in our attention to detail, quality of meat and the presentation of the pie itself", and added "we sell about 30 dozen pies every week, but hopefully this will help us sell even more!"
